Karen Murray is a passionate and very dedicated teacher for violin, viola and chamber music for students from Kindergarten level to university.
She is a graduate of the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (MUK) where she holds an MA in Solo Violin Performance. She also holds diplomas in violin performance and teaching from Trinity College London, the Cork Institute of Technology and Music, Ireland, and a diploma in chamber music from the Akademie Graz.
She held a position as an assistant at the Department of Music Psychology at the Universität Wien and was on faculty at the Longy School of Music, Boston, where she was an assistent to violin Professor Janet Packer.
She was also on faculty for chamber music at the American Youth Philharmonic at Washington, DC, and was founder of the chamber music program at Webster University, Vienna.
Mrs. Murray holds monthly Strings Workshops to enhance and motivate her students further in their daily practice at the American International School, Vienna, where she established a private teaching studio for many years.
